Description:  Former Lehigh Valley EMC SW-1 112 rests under protective cover at the Black River & Western yard in Ringoes. This 1939-built unit is slowly being restored both mechanically and cosmetically by Pennsy Railcar Restorations, LLC with plans to ultimately return her to as-delivered LV maroon, gray and yellow colors.

Description:  Conrail YPJR-02 brings ethanol empties north through CP PD/Port Reading with a pair of CN units leading. This train arrived as CSX K684 on Friday May 18th and was empty by Sunday morning. Interestingly if you search on these unit numbers, they were both photographed on a CN train in Pewaukee, WI (on the former WC) just days before they arrived in New Jersey.

Description:  SU-99 as just entered Paterson and is about to cross Vreeland Ave. The train is stretched out across the Passaic River Bridge, with the hind end passing through Elmwood Park. The track at right is a remnant of the former NYS&W double track main and it was last used to serve a customer that no longer exists. Ties for the continuation of this eastbound main can be seen in the foreground.

Description:  Susquehanna occasionally used their "passenger" E9s in freight service. While not geared for freight service, the use of E-units mixed with SD45s does have a precedent (Erie Lackawanna in the 1970s, for example). Everything to the left of the train in this view has changed. The eastbound passenger platform canopy was demolished a few years after this photo was taken to make way for a wider access road.
